Salute to Late Chief Apostle Donald L. Hunter

Chief Apostle D. L. Hunter

(Donald L. Hunter) was a North Carolina church leader and the founder and presiding prelate of TLC Ministries, Inc. and The Love Cathedral.

According to his obituary, Hunter was born February 6, 1962, in North Carolina. He became involved in ministry and gospel music at a young age, including playing music for well-known gospel artists such as James Cleveland, Shirley Caesar, Douglas Miller, and the Clark Sisters.

He later studied under or was influenced by several prominent Christian ministers, including Kenneth Copeland, Carlton Pearson, and Dr. Frank Green.

The Love Cathedral

The obituary states that Hunter founded The Love Cathedral in 1986 after returning to North Carolina from extensive evangelistic travels. In 1990, the church was placed under the umbrella of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC).

By 1994, the ministry had expanded, with Apostles, Bishops, Elders, and Pastors being developed within the work. TLC Ministries, Inc. was subsequently established, and Hunter became chairman of a network of churches extending from the Great Lakes region through Florida and the Grand Bahamas.

The Love Cathedral was designated the World Headquarters of TLC Ministries in 1997. Hunter's ministry emphasized evangelism, leadership development, community ministry, and developing ministers.

There is also a direct historical connection documented by 7th Day Harvest Teaching Ministry.

Its history states that Moreh Zuma (Anthony Douglas) and Navi Nabiyah (Prophetess Ezekiel Douglas) came through the ranks of ministry under the leadership of the late Apostle D. L. Hunter and Overseer T. H. Hunter of The Love Cathedral World Headquarters of TLC Ministries, Inc. It says they served as associate clergy for more than 27 years.
